Acquisti & Sostenibilità (Purchases & Sustainability) – a not-for-profit association established with the objective of creating social, economic and environmental value, by informing, putting in touch, supporting and steering private and public organisations, of any commodity sector, in developing their sustainability initiatives in the supply chain - is organising 3 vertical “A&S Day” events for the commodity and economic sector, in 2011: paper, construction and mobility chain.

These events include the presentation of “Best Practice” in the context of environmental sustainability, becoming privileged moments of discussion and professional updating.

The first scheduled vertical event deals with the paper chain, and will be held on 13th May 2011 in Milan. It will be organised in association with Mondi, leading international paper and packaging group.

Step will participate in the event as speaker.

Our presence at this type of meetings is a reason of satisfaction and reward for the daily commitment we put into our work, especially in implementing best practices in the scope of sustainability

For the second year running, Step has decided to renew its adhesion to Acquisti & Sostenibilità, a not-for-profit association established with the objective of creating social, economic and environmental value, by supporting private and public organisations, of any commodity sector, in developing their sustainability initiatives in the supply chain.

The Valtellina Golf Club in Sondrio has recently inaugurated an 18-hole golf course, which allows the Club to host national tournaments. Starting from the golfing season 2011, members and guests of the Club can perfect their skills on a highly technical course.

For the second year running, Step has decided to renew its support to Virtus Siena, Basketball club which plays in the men’s championship of the Amateur Premier League.

Step strongly shares the idea that investing in young people, and developing the sports “talents”, can be a valid tool for social development.

Since March 2011 the Step offer has been enriched by the addition of two new services, designed to support large retail networks (branches of banks, dealers, etc.) in managing processes connected with the procurement, distribution and installation of communication materials and furnishing accessories at the operational points.

Specifically:

• management of communication and marketing materials (leaflets, posters, transfers, etc.).
• logistics management of furnishing accessories (poster holders, display units, chairs, lamps, light accessories, etc.).

Today the retail networks (bank agencies, insurances agencies, concessionaires, dealers, etc.) express the need to:

• enhance and upgrade the operational units
• maximise the efficacy of communication campaigns at the operational points
• relieve employees of non-core activities

Acquisti & Sostenibilità – not-for-profit organisation, set up with the objective of creating social, economic and environmental value by informing, networking, supporting and steering private and public organisations from all sectors, in the development of their Sustainability initiatives throughout the Supply Chain – is organising the annual A&S Day at Fondazione Serbelloni – Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan on 28th January next.

Step, already a member of Acquisti & Sostenibilità, has decided to work alongside the association in the organisation of this annual event.

The A&S Day 2011 will involve the presentation of the results of the 2009 Reporting Observatory of Avanzi-Acquisti&Sostenibilità and the illustration of the new BS8093-2010 guideline for “Sustainable Procurement”. The Partners’ Meeting will follow.

During January 2011 the agreement signed between Step and two important Italian banks will take shape: Gruppo Credem and Banca Caripe (Gruppo Tercas).

The agreement will see the provision of office supplies and printed literature by Step with full integrated warehouse management in e-procurement mode.

In October 2010, Step launched a new Document & Office Supply Management project for Gruppo Credito Valtellinese.

The service involves providing office supplies and managing the logistical activities for all of the Group’s banks in e-procurement mode.

Thanks to the Print Fleet Management (PFM) service, Step offers its customers the possibility to monitor and reduce printing costs.

PFM checks and monitors the consumption of networked printers, ensuring advantages in terms of waste reduction, environmental protection and cost control.

The PFM software can be interfaced with the e-Step platform to allow orders of I.T. consumables to be placed automatically.

In line with the long-standing attention Step has paid to the environment, it has attained ISO 14001 (environmental management) and FSC (forest protection) certifications.

These certifications are added to the ISO 9001 (quality system) certification, which has already been confirmed over the years: a further demonstration of the daily commitment of Step to environmental sustainability and improvement in the services it offers.
